Misja Smits (Deurne, 1971) was raised in a little rural village called Liessel. After her secondary school she exchanged this village for the town Nijmegen. In 1993 she started with the artschool ‘Photographic design’ in The Hague, after which she became a sales woman in a photo shop, also in Nijmegen. Misja combines the technical knowledge of her job with being creative outside in the nature. For the last 5 years she focussed more and more on nature photography. Beside registration photography her passion lies specially in her own creative eye for all the nature around us. You can find her often outside with her favorite lens, the 90 mm Macro of Tamron, looking for seemingly unremarkable details, which finally produce a colourful and surprising picture.
