Biography
Els Branderhorst (Apeldoorn,1962) has an interest in nature since her childhood. These days she went into nature areas in the neighbourhood with a sketchbook, making drawings.
A study at the Academy of Arts was a result. There she took lessons in (analoge) photography too.
Nature stays a source of inspiration for her. Her photowork shows creativity in subjects and a balance in compositions.
Her style remains realistic. The images often show "a story".
Most of her photos are taken in the neighbourhood, woodlands, moorland.
All animals and birds of her photos are living in the wild and are photographed with patience in their own habitat.
She doesn't place photos of animals in captivity on Buiten-Beeld.
Els is all-round, landscape, animals, birds, insects. She takes photos of all creatures big and small that she met during walks.
