Noortje Russel's (Tegelen, 1964) is completely happy in nature with her camera. She lives in an area with many different kind of nature reserves close by, so she doesn’t have to go far for her passion. Mostly she doesn’t even go far in the nature reserve, since Noortje can amuse herself for hours in a small field, around a pond or on a few square meters of forest. She always sees something worthwhile photographing and can focus on that for a long time in order to make a picture that wil make it shine. Noortje’s specialty is macro photography, with a special interest in insects. She loves to make narrative photo’s in which a miniature world is shown that most people never see.
