Biography  Arie J. van den Hout (1966), living in het Gooi, grew up in National Park the Biesbosch. He started wildlife photography at the age of 15. The limited resources of the schoolboy meant a short lens and photography from self built hides. He moved to the England where his work got a national platform through publications in magazines. Returning to The Netherlands after 8 years his work was represented by Foto Natura and featured on calendars, agenda's, postcards (Vogelbescherming Nederland). Trips to South-Africa, Kenya and South America provided a broad portfolio of quality images. Recently he mainly takes pictures in The Netherlands, and still, mostly from (self-built) hides.
