Biography
Henk Laverman (Leeuwarden, 1949).
Henk fotografeert vogels het liefst in de vroege morgen of in het late avondlicht. Als vogelfotograaf maakt Henk graag gebruik van het aanwezige strijklicht, zodat hinderlijke slagschaduw geen rol kan spelen. Henk probeert altijd vanuit een laag camerastandpunt te fotograferen. Geïnspireerd raakt Henk als vogels in vlucht voorbij vliegen, maar ook interacties tussen vogels heeft zijn interesse.
Henk heeft de beschikking over een Belly-boat, waadpak en schuiltent om vogels op unieke wijze te fotograferen. Henk is vanaf 2010 actief met het fotograferen van vogels. Bijna dagelijks is Henk in Nederland actief, maar ook met regelmaat in het buitenland. Henk heeft de Jan Vermeer award gewonnen in 2014;

Henk prefers to photograph birds at sunrise or sunset. As a bird photographer Henk likes to use the present grazing light to prevent disturbing shadows to appear on the photographs. Henk tries to get as low a point of view as circumstances allow. He is inspired by birds in flight, and in situations of interaction between birds.
Henk uses a bellyboat, a wading suit or a (portable) hide to photograph birds in a distinctive manner. Henk is active in bird photography since 2010. He is active with bird photography nearly every day in The Netherlands, and frequently travels abroad for photography trips. Henk has won the Jan Vermeer Award in 2014.
