Otto Plantema (Delft,NL, 1948)
Otto is chemist and photographs birds since his studies in Amsterdam. Favourite locations in the '70 were Greenland, Spitsbergen and the Falksland Islands. He lives in Nederweert, NL, and published aticles about his birding/phototrips. Favorite birding families are the Albatross, Penguins, Birds of Paradise and Bowerbirds. Otto made the last 10 years (often with backpack and lightweight tent) many trips to the Antarctic, the Sub-Antarctic , the Arctic ,the Himalaya (as mountaineer) but also to much warmer places as New Guinea, Asia and South-America. Otto visits nearly every year the major birdmigration hotspots like Isreal.
