Biography
Tim Hofmeester (Amsterdam, 1987) has been enthusiastic about nature from a very young age. His enthusiasm and knowledge improved due to a membership of the Dutch Youth organisation for Nature studies (NJN) and this membership was one of the factors influencing Tim’s choice to start a study in Biology. He started photography in 2006.
As an ecologist, Tim wants to tell stories with his pictures, for example an animal in its habitat or the shaping elements in a landscape. One of the key factors in his photography is the feeling that is conveyed by the picture. Tim’s favourite areas in the Netherlands are the ‘Veluwe’, the area around the big rivers and the lowland peat marshes in the ‘Vechtstreek’.
