Biography
Gert Buter (Amsterdam 1948) has been a nature and photography enthusiast since childhood. Armed with "Wat vliegt daar?" ("What's flying there?") and his father's box camera, he first set out in the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes and later spent his Saturdays touring through the nature around Arnhem, under the supervision of his biology teacher Marius Kolvoort. He's also been exploring the nature in and around Friesland for more than 35 years. During holydays Gert enjoys photographing the unspoilt nature of Scandinavia and Iceland.
