Arjen Drost (Eibergen, the Netherlands, 1976) has a lifelong interest in nature and has studied Ecology at the university of Groningen. During his study he has preformed research on Spitsbergen, where he fell in love with the polar regions. In the winter of 2005/2006 he also worked as a guide on the Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia and the Falklands.
During his trips he makes many pictures, with a focus on birds and mammals.
In the Netherlands he is focussed on insects, mainly butterflies and dragonflies.
After a period as a biology teacher at a secondary school, he now works full time as an expedition guide in both Polar regions. When he is at home he also gives lectures about both Polar areas on a regular basis .
