On february 8th 2012 a 14m male Sperm whale beached alive on the beach in Heist (Belgium). This picture was taken only half an hour after the whale died. Immediately, hundreds of people showed up to take a look at this mysterious deep sea creature. Sperm whales cannot survive in the shallow turby southern North Sea. They need deeper waters to dive after squid and fish
