September 8, 2010Buiten-Beeld delivers all pictures for Dorrestijns Natureguide

At 5 september “Dorrestijns Natureguide” was presented at Manuscripta Amsterdam; the opening of the book season.Dorrestijns Natureguide is a collection of texts, poems and anecdotes, in which Hans Dorrestijn gives his unique and sometimes hilarious vision on the European fauna. He would have liked to describe all beautiful, funny and crazy animals in this book, but the amount was too big. Dorrestijn made a personal choice of the fauna of Europe.

Buiten-Beeld supplied all (over 500) photos for this book. Previously Buiten-Beeld delivered all photos for Dorrestijn Bird Guide. Partly because of the appealing photographs, this book became a real bestseller.

Dorrestijns Nature guide has 272 pages and for sale in any Dutch bookstore.

November 4, 2009Wadden Sea UNESCO Worldheritage

At the end of June 2009, UNESCO, the United Nations organization for nature and culture, placed the Wadden Sea on the World Heritage List. This puts the Wadden Sea on the same footing as other world famous natural wonders on the World Heritage List like the Grand Canyon in the USA and the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

The Wadden Sea World Heritage Site encompasses the Dutch and German parts of the Wadden Sea. It covers an area of almost 10,000 square kilometres along a coastal strip about 400 kilometres long.

Pieter de Vries is specialized in aerial photography of the Wadden. His archive consists of thousands of aerial pictures as well from the Dutch part as of the German and Danish part. Click here for a showcase of some pictures of the Wadden Sea. In the coming months we will add hundreds of new aerial pictures. If you cannot wait for this, please contact us and tell us what you are looking for.
